"Schools close, roads disappear, men weep..."- Snowday (aka, a childhood classic)
Ah snow. I love it desperately. My view point is, if it's going to be 12 degrees, it better be snowing! Well, the DC metro area isn't really known for it's snow (minus Snowmageddon a couple years back) and whenever there is any, I freak out like a toddler on pixie sticks.

Anyone else think that bit looks like a heart? Or am I crazy? Well, more than usual. |
I thought I'd share with you guys what constitutes a snow day in my book! It's a bit different from my usual posts, but I want to keep my blog interesting and expand it some! I hope my fashion readers don't mind!
I included what I wore for the day as a little OOTD for those who wanted to see it. Mainly I dress in layers that will keep me warm, like a cashmere sweater, but won't keep me too hot if I go inside.
Most of the day, I catch up on blogs and get work done. As lame as it sounds, I love to be busy. I feel my best when I am. Plus, I'm on track to getting my degree in Journalism so it's a lot of studying.
Speaking of studying, if any of you want a great fashion read- 100 Ideas that Changed Fashion.
I try to pamper myself on days off, I have a pretty hectic week so any time I get off is valued.
I've been pretty low key with my nails lately, short and (if I remember) a bit of polish. Today I chose "Marshmallow" by Essie. A nice classic, but a bit streaky.
And as the first couple photos suggest, I always manage to play in the snow. Unleash that inner kid! But if you are wearing Hunters like me, LAYER ON THE SOCKS. I repeat: LAYER THE SOCKS.
Holy cow were my feet cold.
I also take selfies. Don't lie, so do you. ;p
Oh! And of course, coffee. What would a snow day be without it?
What do you guys like to do on a day off? Fill me in in the comments below!
Until next time,
Emily
