Be Your Body's Valentine.

With Valentine's day coming up, I thought I would write a chatty post about body confidence and loving your body for what it is. So many women, myself included, have hated every bit of their body because while one part was too big, another was too small. It doesn't help that the media portrays the perfect body to be seriously toned, with big breasts and an equally as big (and firm) butt. There is no cellulite shown, not one freckle or mole in sight, and God forbid there be any bit that isn't golden tan.

What message does this send to the billions of women on the planet, myself included, who don't fit this ideal beauty? Oh, that's right.

You aren't good enough. You aren't beautiful enough. Go on a diet. Go eat kale for a month.

Okay, so maybe it doesn't say the kale part, but you get my drift. It doesn't help that a good portion of the fashion industry still uses unhealthy models to promote their new clothes. Don't get me wrong, I love the fashion industry, but I want to see (and help) them drive towards normal sized women. Sure, I don't care if they are fit, or have nice hair, just please- make them look ATTAINABLE.

Fashion isn't just for those who are 5'10 and a size 0. It is for everyone.

Loving yourself is hard. Trust me, I know. But even starting off with mantras like "I am beautiful" or "I love (insert body part here)," can make a difference.  You don't even have to mean it at first. If everyday for 30 days you said "I am beautiful" to yourself, by that 30th day you will see it. It will be easier to love yourself.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Valentines day, whether you are:

single
taken
married

and whether you:

love
hate
don't celebrate

Valentines Day.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take a moment to remind yourself how amazing your body is. How beautiful you are. And how you are more than good enough.

To get things started:

Hi, my name is Emily. I love my curves. I love my strong jaw line. I love my blue eyes. I AM beautiful.

Until next time,
